On Friday, some 17,000 runners are expected to dash through Jerusalem in the city’s third international marathon. Among them will be members of Hachshara, who are raising money for some incredible charities, while running (or walking) various lengths of the track.
The marathon's course connects the different layers of Jerusalem's historical time line and gives participants the opportunity to explore the city that the eyes of the world are drawn to, with their own two feet. They'll go past key sites such as the Old City, the President’s residence and the King David Hotel.
I look forward to cheering them through the finish line, and I already feel a sense of pride in our group - not only for the efforts they are putting into the race, but knowing it is all to benefit those in need. Details of how to sponsor them are below.
